JW Anderson unveils a 100% upcycled and genderless capsule collection

The team of JW Anderson came together via phone, email and videoconferencing to create a 100% British wardrobe, throughout the creation process, from the design made in England.

Introducing JW Anderson’s Made In Britain capsule collection: reimagined iconic shapes and silhouettes including oversized shirts, a trench, a cape, a dress and t-shirts made of existing surplus materials. Using signature techniques like patchwork, reverse stitching and raw and exposed seams made the collection instantly recognisable as JW Anderson. Also true to the brand’s DNA, the pieces in the capsule aren’t designed with any gender in mind; the entire collection was shot on both female and male models to reinforce the fluidity of Made in Britain.

One of the main characteristics of it: the Genderless silhouettes

The Swedish giant has just unveiled EFTERTRÄDA , its first clothing and accessories capsule consisting of hoodies, t-shirts, tote bags, towels, umbrellas and reusable water bottles. A barcode motif that sublimates the pieces refers to the firm's famous Billy library . The only downside is that this collection will go on presale on July 31 on the Ikea Japan e-shop . We hope that the collection will soon be available in Europe as well.

Alpha Industries x Eastpak: The FW19 collaboration

A common military heritage, a shared vision on functionality and the same uncompromising attitude to quality. These are the things that make Alpha Industries and Eastpak natural partners in this landmark collaborative collection. These two legendary U.S. brands started out manufacturing equipment for the U.S. armed forces back in the 1950s, and then respectively transitioned into the consumer market in the 1970s. Now, both brands have joined forces to bring the military look to the street.

Inspired by the now world-famous MA-1 flight jacket – as worn by pilots and crew of the U.S. Air Force and Navy – each item in this exclusive collection fuses Alpha Industries’ iconic military designs with Eastpak’s renowned functionality. A fitting tribute to a shared legacy that runs deep.

The collection will be available from the 1st of August 2019.

WE LOVE: Victoria Beckham's new t-shirt for Pride

Victoria Beckham has designed a special t-shirt to mark LGBTQ+ Pride.

Showcasing the range on her Instagram account on Wednesday, the designer posted a picture of herself wearing the tee.

The plain white t-shirt is emblazoned with the phrase 'Everyone Deserves Love' in a colourful rainbow font, symbolic of the colours of Pride.

The creation is to mark both Pride - which is celebrated throughout June and July in various cities around the world - and the 50th anniversary of Stonewall uprising which saw LGBTQ+ rights groups fight against prejudice and discrimination from police forces at a gay bar in New York City in June 1969.

Beckham said she created the t-shirt as she wanted to mark both occasions and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and their 'continued message of positive change and inclusivity'.

A Freedom Movement 2019 - The Exhibition at Leman Locke, London

The lifestyle hotel in Aldgate East, continues to host worth seeing creative exhibitions. Leman Locke is now introducing Michelle Beatty and her new photographic series A Freedom Movement 2019.

Michelle is an Australian born Londoner who has spent a creative lifetime moving seamlessly from the carnival of catwalks and high fashion showrooms, to the subtle backdrops of fine art photography - landscapes, architecture and foreign, far-off lands. For the first time, Michelle has created a body of work that straddles these two parallel career tracks, and the contrasting sides of herself.

Leman Locke is proud to present her newest photographic series, where three talented subjects with backgrounds in ballet, modelling and choreography are captured in the prime of their lives; embodying strength, wisdom, and feminine beauty. The subjects are offset by strong skies, powerful waves and brooding clouds. The photography exhibition runs across all 22 floors of the East London lifestyle hotel, open to the public from 10th May until 31st July.
